“Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” - Matthew 7:12I think of how I want others to treat me, and then I think… I’m going to treat others that way, whether they respond in kind or not. This, of course, is all based on a healthy self respect and valuing myself highly. If I think I’m worthless or unworthy, then I’m not going to think I’m worthy of being treated with the best of care. It’s hard to “do unto others as you would have them do to you” in a way that is Christ-like if you think you are unworthy - or worse, if you think you deserve to be treated better or as more important than others. You have a lot of options as to what you do in private. I’m grateful prayer is one of those options. “But when you pray, go into your private room, shut your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” - Matthew 6:6I’m grateful that I don’t have to see God as someone who just assumes that, when I am in private, I’m up to no good. Not being able to “hide from God” is a good thing… Where can I go from your Spirit?
